History:
HACCP Now is a brand owned an operated by James Flynn, a food safety professional with 20 years experience. HACCP Now was the worlds first Windows based HACCP software solution and we believe it remains the best to this day.
In 1995 the Food Safety General Food hygiene regulations came into force in the UK. For the first time this made HACCP UK law and meant that in order to comply all food manufacturing and food processing businesses had to implement HACCP in their food production operations. This resulted in a scramble to implement HACCP, something that few food businesses knew anything about.
As a qualified hygiene and food safety consultant; James was inundated with requests to write HACCP plans for his customers. After dozens of successful HACCP documetation projects it became clear that a software solution would be the fastest and most efficient way to document HACCP systems. With this in mind James decided to sell his chemical hygiene business, Partners in Hygiene, in 1997 and return to University to study a post graduate degree in Software Technology. During this time the first version of HACCP Now was written, the HACCP Now web site established and the system began selling in the UK and abroad.
In 2000 James graduated with distinction and took a product manager role in a prominent Edinburgh software business to gain further experience of the software business. By May 2002 it was time to go full time with HACCP Now and the product was further developed and sales increased dramatically together with our partners who help us sell and support HACCP Now in many countries. HACCP Now has grown and matured over the years into the comprehensive food safety management system it is today. We have also added other solutions to the range that compliment HACCP Now in training, learning, auditing and non conformance management.
Our 1-2-3 Philosophy:
1. The customer is King .. or Queen! At HACCP Now we have always worked closely with customers to support them by listening to their needs and allowing them to influence the direction our software goes in. This has resulted in HACCP Now Live being very closely aligned to the specific needs of food businesses of all size. After ten years of development we continue to add features requested by customers.
2. Software should be affordable! Many software companies charge large amounts of money for software solutions, e.g. a document management solution can easily cost £50,000 for even a modest implementation. This means that smaller and medium sized businesses often don't benefit from the savings and efficiencies that can result from technology. We take a different view. We keep overheads down by utilizing Partners instead of a sales force, we work from home or small offices and use online meeting technology to stay in touch and support customers rather than travel every day. We keep the levels of functionality and features high and design our software to scale from the smallest to the very largest organisation. As a result we can provide our software solutions for an incredibly low affordable cost. 3. Supporting our customers is our Critical Control Point! We believe that customers want, deserve and require ongoing support. Whether it is a technical issue to do with the software, a training need or some advice on how to get the best out of the software we are always there to help and advise. We often support customers using remote technology such as Webex MeetMeNow. This allows us to work with you like we are sitting together a the same desk.
